L-Spine — Scoliosis

Understanding how structures relate through all three dimensions can be crucial to diagnosis and treatment planning.

This helical CT of the lumbar-spine shows a patient with severe rotatory scoliosis. Slice thickness was 4.0 mm with index 3.0 mm. The ability to assess the aberrant curvature and rotational displacement of the spine is greatly facilitated by this image.

Interpreting cross sectional images of a patient like this is a challenge made much less daunting by the addition of a Voxgram® image.
