Brain — Tumor

This is a superior/inferior view, i.e., the patient is lying on their back, and we are looking down through the brain towards the feet. The spherical bright zone on the left is composed of tumor and edema (swelling) around the tumor.

The MR data set consists of 35 slices with a slice-separation of 3.0 mm. An axial T2-weighted FSE/FatSat acquisition was used to highlight the cortical surface anatomy of the brain, the left parietal tumor, and the shape of the ventricular system.

In a Voxgram® image like this, the surgeon sees the exact three-dimensional relationship between the tumor and neighboring cerebral structures.
